--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Professional-Consumer Collaboration In All Sessions of the Congress: Please Be Aware Consumers, both young people and their families, are to be welcomed to a IACAPAP World Congress for the first time in Melbourne. They will be both presenting and attending sessions throughout the Congress, enriching discussion and collaboration. Both consumers and professionals should plan their sessions with this in mind. Sensitive and/or confidential material can be challenging for professionals and consumers alike, and we all need to be aware of its potentially disturbing emotional impact. While people will choose not to attend certain sessions, all presenters and chairs need to remain conscious of the possible position of other delegates. To promote infant, child, adolescent and family mental health and well being on a world wide basis is IACAPAP's mission. It does this through sharing of experiences in the delivery of the whole spectrum of services relating to the young and their families, through scientific analysis, discussion and publication, and through advocacy in relation to the needs of children and young people. The World Congress is a vital means by which IACAPAP seeks to achieve its goals. Australia is delighted to be hosting the 17th Congress in 2006 and the host organisations join together in welcoming you to this website.
